How it all began.
CareerConnects is a collaborative effort, to be sure. It started as a Linkedin group called Getting the Gig that hosts biweekly job search webcasts. After 8 months or so, we realized that our helping hands could only go so far until they hit the digital brick wall. Job hunters had to kick off the bunny slippers and go out into the world.
A few passionate conversations later and the networking event had a business partner with St. Edward’s Professional Education Center for the venue and a planning partner with St. Edward’s Career Planning Office for the panels and learning sessions. Almost 400 people showed up for the inaugural event, proving that even in the “healthier” Austin market, a great need existed.
